SUMMARY
when launching the app and trying to type your name, it is unable to register anything

Most likely has something to do with Wayland. 
Seems to have been present since march of 2020

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. launch app
2. try to type name in the box

OBSERVED RESULT
it doesn't register that you are typing
and then you can't log in

EXPECTED RESULT
that you ca type your name and log in
