Description Andres Betts 2023-03-11 02:38:38 UTC
Even though the flatpak advanced options is an area meant for advanced users, I think it makes sense to have descriptions for the items that would seems relevant for regular users to use. Given the descriptions are not there, a user looking to fix issues with flatpaks might have less of a hint to know what to do or where to start.

Yeah, makes sense.
Comment 2 ratijas 2023-04-06 15:07:07 UTC
Do you mean to add longer (multi-line) textual descriptions to each row?

Because descriptions are already, sort of, there. At least they are not the same short cryptic strings which they represent from flatpak-metadata(5).
Comment 3 Andres Betts 2023-04-07 12:41:37 UTC
Yes, if possible. They don't have to be too long but enough to give a good hint to users about their use.

Should be easily possible. The rows are Kirigami.BasicListItem, there is a subtitle property in addition to the regular text.

As alwaysand since I am not a native speakers, suggestions welcome :)

I'm not sure being a native speaker would necessarily help much; I'm a native speaker and I don't even know what a lot of those advanced permissions do myself. I think someone who does know can give it a try for starters, and then we can refine the text if needed.
