Could you please attach screenshots of Configure Krita -> Performance -> General, and what shows up when, when you have the issue (it must be happening during taking the screenshot), you click on the small bar on the bottom showing the memory? (It would probably be yellow or red, but can be grey too, and when clicked it should show information like Image size and Memory used).
