SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** having now installed and populated db , i now have simple questions that would take me forever to find here or in app ... 1A. can you exclude sub-directories from search? if so, where/how? 1B. can you exclude images/files with a wild card filter, eg *-old 2A. what happens if you move dirs OUTSIDE the root search directory? 2B. what happens if you delete a dir? 3. how do you re-include/rescan all excluded images? 4. now having looked at faces results, which includes many that are almost unrecognizable, it seems to me that the strategy should be to NOT tag all faces that are poorly defined. is that the idea? 5. finally, say the result i want is to arrange faces with all the same face tags into separate Albums. how would you do that? kind regards don

1A 1B => https://docs.digikam.org/en/main_window/search_view.html#the-advanced-search-tool 2A 2B => information still in database until you run maintenance DB tool https://docs.digikam.org/en/maintenance_tools/maintenance_database.html 3 => you need to restore directory. If database is cleaned with maintenance tool, you need a database backup. 4 ==> yes, you needs at least a certain amont of same faces already tagged. It's an IA engine in background, which need to learn who is this. https://docs.digikam.org/en/main_window/people_view.html#face-recognition 5 ==> https://docs.digikam.org/en/main_window/people_view.html#manual-face-tagging Gilles Caulier
