Plasma 5.27.2 built from source on top of Fedora 5.27. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have Klipper at its default settings 2. Pin Klipper popup open 3. Put an image on the desktop 4. Copy it OBSERVED RESULT Copied image is added to the Clipboard, but it is shown as a placeholder image of a mountain; there is no thumbnail of the contents EXPECTED RESULT Thumbnail of the image contents ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The issue only happens when copying files on the desktop (i.e. when Folder View is showing the desktop:/ IO worker). The issue does not happen when copying the file from Dolphin, or when opening the image file in Gwenview and copying with Ctrl+C
Forgot to mention this is on Wayland. Have not tested X11.

Thanks, looks like you reproduced the issue on X11. That's what I see on Wayland too: a placeholder image instead of a thumbnail.
Actually on this box the image does not get pasted to the clipboard from the Desktop. There was no placeholder at all, the clipboard remains empty. It was only when I tested on X11 the placeholder was shown.
