Description Andy 2023-02-28 11:38:27 UTC
SUMMARY
In digiKam/Light Table , when two images are being compared, the ExifTool information doesn't change when clicking on the other image.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. compare two images at 100% in Light Table (digiKam) that have different ExifTool data (f.e. different ISO).
2. Open the ExifTool information window on the right hand tab, next to the images.
3. Click back and forth on either of the two images and notice how the ExifTool information of one of the images remains in view and doesn't switch to the other image you clicked.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The photo's being compared are in the Sony ARW (RAW) format.

I can't reproduce any problem here with digiKam-8.0.0, also the ExifTool tab is updated. Did you realize that 2 metadata sidebars are available, one for the left and one for the right image?

Thanks Maik, I didn't realize there was another sidebar on the left for the metadata of the left image. That helps.
However, now that I have both open I can see that the information in the left sidebar does change correctly when I click on the left or the right image, but the sidebar on the right does not and keeps showing the information of the image on the right only, even when I click on the image on the left.
I'm new to digiKam and downloaded the stable version 7.9.0 this morning.

Yes, that's intentional, the left sidebar only shows the information of the left image and the right sidebar that of the right image. Regardless of which image you click on.

Thanks for the link.
I don't know what I did exactly but now it's working, I was messing around with the location of the xmp files, that might be the reason for the problem.
The information was changing on the left sidebar when clicking on the right photo, now both sidebars don't change.
