SUMMARY
***
My screen gets corrupted when I change from the laptop screen to the external one after recovering from sleep. I'm using kubuntu.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure your external monitor in your laptop and disconnect it. (make the external primary and the only output)
2. Use the laptop as normal.
3. Make the laptop go to sleep.
4. Connect an external monitor.
5. Wake up the laptop.

OBSERVED RESULT
You should see the login screen being corrupted with some sort of purple artifacts. After login, kde desktop environment crashes. I think it's called kded.

EXPECTED RESULT
To be the login screen completely normal and without crashing.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2023-02-28 20:20:29 UTC
Multi-monitor handling was re-done in Plasma 5.27 to fix issues such as this one. Please update to 5.27 as soon as your distro offers it to you. Version 5.25 is unfortunately no longer eligible for support or maintenance.
