I have my window close decoration set to the upper left of windows. When a KDE application is maximized, the close button is accessible & works. If it is a GTK application, e.g. Firefox, VMware Workstation, etc, the button does not respond visually or functionally. The decoration just to the right of the upper leftmost works fine. For me, that's the minimize button. I have no Plasma trigger set to the upper left corner of screen. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Place a close button as the leftmost decoration on windows. 2. Run a GTK app. 3. Maximize GTK app. 4. Try to click the close button. OBSERVED RESULT The button gives no visual feedback when the mouse is over or clicking the button. The button is not functional. EXPECTED RESULT The button would respond. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.27 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Graphics platform: Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The workaround is to restore the window & click the button. Other than this small bug, the Wayland implementation is amazing.
This might be the xembed sni window. Does the issue happen in Plasma 6.1 + recent-ish Xwayland?
I am not using Plasma 6.1.5. This issue appears to have been resolved. The left positioned close button is working on maximized windows.
