SUMMARY Since using tiling manager I noticed that some windows frequently fail to be put into a zone. I tried double clicking on title bar, moving window manually into a zone with Shift, resizing a window by dragging a border, but nothing works and the window pops and is re-maximised. This is most frequent for slack, vscode and brave. When this happens the window somehow gets "Keep Below Others" enabled which I never manually enabled. Disabling "Keep Below Others" will fix the issue and windows will be correctly zoned. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Kernel Version: 5.15.91-4-lts (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland
Do you have some KWin scripts enabled that might be causing this?
I dont have any other kwin script enabled in "KWin Scripts" section of system settings, not aware of any other place where this could be.
This bug doesnt make any sense. I cant find any place where this could be configured. I've never even used "keep below others" before, but now all new windows start in this configuration. I'm going to delete my whole kde/plasma config and see if that helps. That means that any configuration i have will be lost, but if I cant reproduce this later, this bug can be closed.
Everything seems to be working better now... I think this can be closed
