Description forestbeasts 2023-02-13 19:36:10 UTC
SUMMARY
The remote keyboard on the desktop panel doesn't send characters generated by an IME (e.g. Japanese). This is on X, haven't tried Wayland.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open remote keyboard on the desktop.
2. Try to type some Japanese text.
3. Nothing happens on the phone.
4. Type a letter on the keyboard, watch it go through by itself.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing IME-generated gets sent. Directly typed letters do.

EXPECTED RESULT
IME-generated characters get sent along with everything else (once finalized).

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 22.04
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.98.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Tried on X, haven't tried Wayland.
