I don't know if it's an issue with the IBus framework or with Ghost, but IBUS doesn't have this problem with other apps like Firefox's search bar. What version of ghostwriter are you using? (See Help -> About from the menu bar.) Did you build it from the master branch? If not, would you please do so and tell me if the problem persists? There are some fcitx5 fixes on the master branch already. Thanks!
