SUMMARY
***
Saved playlists are not loaded/played correctly.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open an album, sort it in the order you want and press the save button.
2. Update and close Elisa
3. Re-open Elisa and navigate artist>album>click play button in cover art which brings up a playlist in some unknown order. (image 1)
4. Pause and load the playlist you just saved (image 2).

OBSERVED RESULT
From point 3 above a playlist is automatically generated in some unknown order. It is not alphabetical nor does it use the embedded track number in the metadata (image 1).

From point 4 above a playlist is created but not the saved playlist you just loaded or the playlist generated in point 3 (image 2).

Alternatively, right click file > Open with Elisa and a third playlist order is generated (image 3).

EXPECTED RESULT
1. That an album's play order default to the track number order contained in the file's metadata.
2. Where the file/folder does not contain metadata but has a manually saved playlist that that playlist be used in the order it is saved with.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The m3u8 file that is saved does not appear to be the problem as that file can be read and played correctly by a number of other players.

Content of m3u8 file:
file:///mnt/data2/Vaults/Music Vault/ACDC/Jailbreak/01 Jailbreak.mp3
file:///mnt/data2/Vaults/Music Vault/ACDC/Jailbreak/02 You ain't got a hold on me.mp3
file:///mnt/data2/Vaults/Music Vault/ACDC/Jailbreak/03 Show business.mp3
file:///mnt/data2/Vaults/Music Vault/ACDC/Jailbreak/04 Soul stripper.mp3
file:///mnt/data2/Vaults/Music Vault/ACDC/Jailbreak/05 Baby, please don't go.mp3

The naming convention here matches the metadata as regards track number.

You've got shuffle turned on. :) This means the playlist contents are randomized.

Maybe a GUI tweak for the half blind and half witted.
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2023-02-13 00:39:04 UTC
Heh what do you suggest? Maybe we could give the button text when there's enough room?
Comment 6 Scott 2023-02-13 03:06:02 UTC
At the moment the visual indicator is only an outline of the icon, perhaps a solid/translucent green of the icon background.
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2023-02-13 19:28:15 UTC
It gets darkened too (or lightened when using the default dark color scheme), but I see how with your customized color scheme it's hard to notice that. A good illustration of the principle of "with great power comes great responsibility". :)
