Description richard.wutscher 2023-02-07 15:14:38 UTC
SUMMARY
***
After a system update and reboot, plasmashell had 23GB memory usage. This happens both in Wayland and Xorg. Downgrading glibc from 2.37-2 to 2.36-7 stopped this behavior.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. install KDE on latest version of Arch linux
2. restart system and check memory usage

OBSERVED RESULT
plasmashell uses almost all free memory (23GB).

EXPECTED RESULT
plasmashell should use reasonable amount of memory.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: kernel 6.1.9-arch1-2
KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.102.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8

Does it reproduce if you reboot again?
