My settings are "All first letters uppercase" and I selected "Automatically apply format".

I wanted to type an artist in all caps (e.g., ABBA), but the artist field does only allow "Abba". (in the file name field it was possible)
It would be nice if we could manually overrule the default setting of "All first letters uppercase" by just typing capital letters.

Problem also was there for bands that use capital letters in the middle of their name (e.g. I was not able to type SecondCity) as the "C" is forced to be "c". It would be nice to be able to manually overrule "All first letters uppercase" after applying this format.

You probably have activated the option "Automatically apply format" in the "All Tags" tab for the "Tags" preferences tab. I would suggest that you uncheck this option and use the menu function "Tools/Apply Tag Format" if you want to have "All first letters uppercase" in the tags.
