Created attachment 155688 [details] screen record SUMMARY When you quickly change applet that mouse points to, text in tooltip stretches, which makes it look very ugly. I am not sure what to suggest to make this effect look nicer but what happens now doesn't look good. It is especially noticeable when you move between widget with drastically different tooltips, e.g. short text vs player control. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Maybe set animation speed to something faster than default 2. Point to widget on panel 3. Wait for tooltip to appear 4. Move mouse back and forth between widgets OBSERVED RESULT Text stretches and looks ugly EXPECTED RESULT Tooltips not looking ugly SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.102.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Kernel Version: 6.1.7-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics
This is just the Morphing Popups effect in action. If you don't like it, you're welcome to turn it off. As you said, yeah, it's hard to imagine a better approach given what it is and does.
