Description tsengalb99 2023-01-12 06:39:45 UTC
SUMMARY
When playing audio in Plasma 5.26.5, I get soft audio, as if something is blocking the speakers. S's are not clear, and audio sounds muffled. This does not happen in 5.25.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download Kubuntu 22.10
2. Play some audio with s's
3. Upgrade to 5.26.5 with https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2022/10/install-kde-plasma-5-26-kubuntu-22-10
4. Reboot
5. Play some audio with s's, observe that s's are not as clear as before.

OBSERVED RESULT

Audio muffled

EXPECTED RESULT

Audio clear

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.26.5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
My laptop is a HP 865 G9 with the Realtek ALC295 codec. I'm not sure if this is actually an issue with Plasma/KDE, but I can reliably reproduce this issue by switching from 5.25 to 5.26.

KDE neon with 5.26.5 works fine though, I wonder if there's an issue with upgrading?
Comment 2 David Redondo 2023-01-12 09:43:53 UTC
This sounds unlikely to be caused by plasma and is not actionable as is. Closing
