SUMMARY While in Dolphin Thumbnails appeas normally, the Portal chooser, for example for sending a file in Signal Flatpak, sometimes doesnt load thumbnails at all, sometimes only of older images, sometimes all. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. use a flatpak app and "open file" 2. choose a folder with images 3. OBSERVED RESULT image loading is inconsistent, often reloading, changing when zooming view EXPECTED RESULT normal image thumbnails like in dolphin SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 37 KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.101.0 Qt Version: 5.15.7 Kernel Version: 6.0.18-300.fc37.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland
This is still happening and it is really strange and impacting usability a lot
Only in the portal open/save dialog? Or also in any non-portal open/save dialogs as well? And how about in Dolphin?
Still only in the filechooser portal. Tried on the same folder, a camera folder containing mostly JPG files. In Dolphin, it is not really fast but works fine, when using Firefox (with "use portal" in "about:config" enabled) the same folder, pictures appear waaay slower like 5 times slower, sometimes disappear again. This may be a memory saving issue? Or a process priority issue? Unloading "old" preview thumbnails would make sense if memory is low.
