Description Stephen Esseenyne 2023-01-07 21:55:43 UTC
SUMMARY

A .mp4 clip - portrait, ie 1080x1920 - was imported into Kdenlive and automatically proxied as landscape, ie 1920x1080.

OBSERVED RESULT

In proxy mode the clip is landscape. However when I render it it comes out as portrait.

EXPECTED RESULT

The proxied clip should be in the same orientation as the original clip. (And so should the Project Bin thumbnail, shouldn't it?)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Microsoft Windows 10 22H2 (OS Build 19045.2364)

portrait clip proxied rendered as portrait

The problem is the proxy has taken it upon itself to rotate etc. Which means to the naked eye it looks fine. But in the render it is portrait.

This is not in the overnight build back in January. This is in _stable_ version 22.12.2, KDE F/w 5.102.0, Qt 5.15.8

Just tried with latest nighlty for Windows and also selecting a portrait project with portrait clips is doing the same...
