I updated the list of macOS rights for the application in the document. Can you check if you have similar settings on your computer ? https://docs.digikam.org/en/getting_started/installation.html#application-rights Best Gilles Caulier
Created attachment 155274 [details] Header of crash report at digikam 7.9.0 launch (repeatable) I had the same issue as Tim - Unable to launch digikam 7.9.0 on macOS 10.14.6 (Mojave). My setup: iMac 5K 2017 (18,3) 3.4GHz i5, MacOS 10.14.6, 16GB RAM, Radeon Pro 570 4GB. Images are stored on my local network. The problem persisted despite adding access rights in the macOS Security and Privacy Panel Ref. https://docs.digikam.org/en/getting_started/installation.html#application-rights My workaround was uninstalling 7.9.0 (using AppCleaner 3.6.7 app), rebooting and re-installing digikam 7.8.0. It appears that Files and Folders Access Rights don't exist in the macOS Security and Privacy Panel before 10.15 (Catalina). Ref. https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/mac-help/mchld5a35146/mac Tim & Gilles, hope this helps (this is my first bug report here). There might be some other issue that I'm missing. Regards, Gary
Hum. I will install last Apple updates on my Mojave Intel computer (macOS, Xcode, and Macports) used to compile digiKam package and rebuild all from scratch. This will take a while... but we will see if this fix the problem. Gilles
Hi all, Some fresh news : i upgraded my MacBookPro to last Monterey 12.6.2 and install last XCode Command Line Tool extensions. Since this morning, Macports compilation from scratch is under progress. It's long as usual. Until now, all is fine, excepted that now the digiKam bundle needs at least macOS 10.15 (Catalina): One library compiled with Macports do not compiled with older macOS versions. This is the side effect of rolling release policy used by Macports: there is a reduced backward compatibility... Wait few hours again to see the Macports compilation completed... Gilles Caulier
MacOS 10.15 is now required to run last digiKam versions. Gilles Caulier
