Created attachment 154778 [details] screenshot SUMMARY Even though enough space is available, the text of the tab button is cut off on my Surface Go tablet. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Run qmlkonsole. OBSERVED RESULT The text of the tab button is cut off. EXPECTED RESULT The text of the tab button is completely readable. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS 22.11 KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.101.0 Qt Version: 5.15.7
Note: this is with German translation. It could be that the text is not "Tab" but "Tabulator".
Do you know if keyboards sold in Germany have "Tab" or "Tabulator"? Those button names need to match the keys on the keyboard.
Not sure if all are the same but I cannot recall any with text. They only have the symbol (↹).
Hmm, we probably need to get the translation changed to ↹ then for that language, I'm not super sure of the process for that...
Or use the symbol generally? English keyboards also have it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab_key.
Actually, you cannot tab back (as in shift + tab), right? So U+21E5 (⇥) would be more correct.
Only older keyboards have the ↹ symbol, nowadays they usually just write "Tab". I personally would not be able to understand that character actually...
I checked: the translation indeed says „Tabulator“. 🙃 We’ll change it then.
