I think it would be handy, if Plasma came with a standard stress test / benchmark tool bundled. One could use it to test the stability and performance of a newly installed OS or a new hardware setup.

Having it bundled makes sure, that it is available on every distribution, on live systems and offline.

A minimal set of tests would include:

* CPU
* GPU
* RAM (test the OOM-killer?)
* storage

This could be a completely separate project, but being part of plasma-systemmonitor makes it possible to reuse the sensor support. Additionally the new plasma-welcome wizard could add a page that suggests running it.
