Bottom row completely broken

SUMMARY
I searched for an emoji then realized this weird behavior. Searching for an emoji keeps the emoji button selected, however this sometimes results in two buttons overlapping after the search box is cleared.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Search for an emoji and select an emoji that isn't immediately visible when search box is clear (not within the visible range of the scroll view)
2. Select all the text in the search box and delete it

OBSERVED RESULT
Sometimes causes buttons to overlap and the selected button isn't in the right place.

EXPECTED RESULT
The selected button should be where it's normally supposed to

I was able to reproduce this with Arch Linux kde-unstable packages, however to ensure this is not an Arch Linux thing, I will try reproducing the issue on a KDE Neon Unstable VM and post an update comment here.

Reproduction of the issue on KDE Neon Unstable live environment (neon-unstable-20240211-1119.iso)

I have booted from the ISO to test if the issue was present in the live build. It is still present.
The out of place hearts and fires seem to be caused by the emoji font not supporting these emojis yet, so it falls back to rendering it like them. Not entirely sure if it's directly related to this issue.

OS: KDE neon Unstable Edition
Plasma: 6.0.80
Frameworks: 6.0.0
Qt: 6.6.1

Comment 7 Nate Graham 2024-07-30 21:55:15 UTC
This was caused by a Qt bug that's since been fixed. At least in 6.7.2, possibly earlier.
