Thanks for your report! Can you please tell us how you installed Kdenlive (eg. Appimage, PPA, Flatpak, Snap)? (In case you don't know this info, you can go to kdenlive menu Help > Copy Debug Information and paste the text here) Also please try whether this is happening with the offical Appimage too (Download the latest version here https://kdenlive.org/download/)? Remember set the status of this report back to REPORTED ones you provided the requested information.
Hi Julius I'm glad i can contribute somehow, specially for my favorite software :) I have updated it via PPA. A side note: i have access to effects when i try to add them from the "Timeline Context Menu" ( that's what i'm currently using as a workaround ). Also as you suggested I have just downloaded latest AppImage, and i can confirm that that one works just fine without problems > effects are visible. So now seems like only PPA version has this issue. Here is copied debug log: Kdenlive: 22.12.0 Package Type: Unknown/Default MLT: 7.12.0 Qt: 5.15.3 (built against 5.15.3 x86_64-little_endian-lp64) Frameworks: 5.92.0 System: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS Kernel: linux 5.15.0-56-generic CPU: x86_64 Windowing System: xcb Movit (GPU): disabled Track Compositing: frei0r.cairoblend In case you need any more info don't hesitate to ask.
I just now realized that its not only effects tab having blank screen problem, but also composition has the same issue as well. Please checkout this video footage (PPA version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30xz9d99r0k
Same problem on my side with the PPA version. Everything is normal with the latest Appimage Kdenlive: 22.12.0 Package Type: Unknown/Default MLT: 7.12.0 Qt: 5.15.3 (built against 5.15.3 x86_64-little_endian-lp64) Frameworks: 5.92.0 System: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS Kernel: linux 5.15.0-56-generic CPU: x86_64 Windowing System: xcb Movit (GPU): disabled Track Compositing: frei0r.cairoblend Thanks
Hello, I also have this same problem. I've installed from the Debian Testing repo via apt get.
Hello, same issue on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. Kdenlive installed via ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-stable.
Same by me
In Ubuntu 22.10, this is caused by a missing dependency: sudo apt install qml-module-org-kde-kcm See discussion at: https://www.reddit.com/r/kdenlive/comments/zlxl98/did_the_recent_update_break_the_effects_and/

Thanks for sharing this. Hope this will be included in future PPA releases.

I filed a bug with the ubuntu package maintainers: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdenlive/+bug/2004109

Same bug,
I have the same problem: The Effects list appears empty, as is the Transitions list. However, it is possible to apply the effects through the Timeline menu. kdenlive 22.12.1 OS: Linux Mint 21.1 FROM: Cinnamon 5.6.7 Linux Kernel: 5.15.0-58-generic GPU: Intel HD Graphics 620

Greetings, same issue on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. Kdenlive installed via ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-stable. Found "white squares" after updating to version 22.12.2 (before that, everything was in order in the effects and compositions panel). Debug information: Kdenlive: 22.12.2 Package Type: Unknown/Default MLT: 7.12.0 Qt: 5.15.3 (built against 5.15.3 x86_64-little_endian-lp64) Frameworks: 5.92.0 System: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Kernel: linux 5.15.0-58-generic CPU: x86_64 Windowing System: xcb Movit (GPU): disabled Track Compositing: frei0r.cairoblend
I filed a report against the debian package for kdenlive: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1030782 The maintainers of the PPA are aware of the missing dependency and say they've fixed it (in the PPA): <vpinon[m]> Thanks to your report I updated the ppa
Created attachment 156154 [details] attachment-1494115-0.html Thank you! The problem was solved by installing packet for missing dependency by "sudo apt install qml-module-org-kde-kcm". PPA modification performed by maintainers, did not help me, because. judging by the listing, the changes were made to kinetic-updates but I have the version of jammy. The ppa for it remains the same. ср, 8 февр. 2023 г. в 13:35, Alan Canon <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org>: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463203 > > --- Comment #16 from Alan Canon <alancanon9000@gmail.com> --- > I filed a report against the debian package for kdenlive: > > https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1030782 > > The maintainers of the PPA are aware of the missing dependency and say > they've > fixed it (in the PPA): > > <vpinon[m]> Thanks to your report I updated the ppa > > -- > You are receiving this mail because: > You are on the CC list for the bug.

Same problem also on Fedora 37, with Kdenlive 22.12.2 installed from RPMFusion. However, I could not find a package "qml-module-org-kde-kcm" on either repos to fix this.

You can fix this by installing the package named 'kf5-kirigami2' I'm also using Fedora 37. After installing this, the effects page can display normally
