Created attachment 154634 [details] The bug in action. Notice, how Discover says "System up to date" in Status and Notifications. The Discover panel applet says "System up to date," even if there are available updates. It also doesn't show up in panel, when set to "Shown when relevant." STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have the default Breeze Dark theme (mine only has an altered color scheme, and removed pager from panel). 2. Refresh updates in Discover, until there are updates available (happens automatically). 3. Look at the panel. OBSERVED RESULT The Discover applet says "System up to date," and doesn't show up in panel when set to "Shown when relevant." EXPECTED RESULT The Discover applet should say "Updates available" or something like that, and should show up in panel when set to "Shown when relevant." SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.100.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I experience the same issue on Debian testing, plasma 5.26.5. Discover applet never shows up now in the notification area when set to "show when relevant". When set to "Always shown" it indicates no updates, even though there are updates pending. I wonder if it's Debian specific problem. Does it work on other distros?
Any news on this? I think it can be seen as confirmed.
Still happens in 5.26.90.
Still happens in 5.27.2.

Just tested, libpackagekitqt5-1 1.1.1 fixes it for me on Debian.
Seems like it was a problem in PackageKit Qt.
Yep, just fixed for me as well.
