Enable the option to show the icons in the event headers 2. The icons come from the user's chosen icon theme. KOrganizer does not choose their colors.

KOrganizer does not > choose their colors. as does the font usually use the user chosen foreground colour, but it is intelligent enough to switch to the opposite on a certain background to ensure being legible.
