Description Omar Helali 2022-12-10 14:23:25 UTC
For long time used to connect to sftp server and manage files through copy/paste dragndrop through folders. This is broken on the latest update 22.12.
Major problem is when moving files to another folder tries to download the files and upload them again on 30% of times on the other 70% it crashes. Dealing with files on the same parent sftp folder and this worked fine on the previous version.
Drag/drop copy/paste for folders works as expected.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 457529 ***

This is not the same bug. Absolutely not. Managing files throught the same sftp destination transfers to local then reupload ... I feel people some here try to resolve the max of bug reports by marking as duplicate ... Not the first time though ...

This most likely has the same cause as bug 457529. If you want to confirm that it is different, revert https://invent.kde.org/system/dolphin/-/commit/57909ebe66fd4aa83d1fbaf2c746d408451e80cb and see if the issue still persists for you.

I get nothing out of resolving bugs so don't assume any bad intent.

Fixed in Dolphin 22.12.0-2 in Arch

Be aware though that this was most likely fixed by a temporary revert for 22.12. The bug might re-appear in 23.04.
