When ungrouped, the Task Manager is showing specific windows, so it displays their individual names. When grouped, it no longer shows windows but rather apps, so it shows the app name. It looks like it's inappropriately showing the executable name, rather than the pretty app name.
Created attachment 154357 [details] cannot reproduce.png Cannot reproduce. Are you using flatpak packages?
No. I use Audacity from Arch repos.
Nate, can you reproduce?
I cannot reproduce with an empty bottom panel containing only a Task Manager widget that's using all its default settings. Patrick, have you customized the settings at all?
Created attachment 154375 [details] my window rules Found the culprit: my window rules. I have many window rules to fix the icon of several apps on Wayland, I logged in with another user account, imported my window rules to it and the bug happened there too. Then I removed all window rules from Window Rules KCM and the "bugs" of the task manager disappeared. I'm attaching my window rules in case anyone wants to take a look and possibly to find out what exactly is the problem with them.
With great power comes great responsibility. :) Can you look through the other Task manager bugs you filed recently and see if they're now fixed too?
