Created attachment 154135 [details] installation of debug symbols SUMMARY I used up-to-dated Neuon Unstable system. Discover crashed in Dr Konqi I got two starts for stack trace, so I clicked "Install Debug Symbols". In result I got error like: "An error occured during installation. Failed to obtain authentication" and output as in attached file. Please notice that this was working in previous version of Neon. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Any KDE application crashed (in my case Discover) 2. Click get more information to get stack trace coming from crash 3. Click button "Install Debug Symbols" OBSERVED RESULT Appeared error like: "An error occured during installation. Failed to obtain authentication" and output as in attached file. EXPECTED RESULT Installation suggested packages with debug symbols. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.101.0 Qt Version: 5.15.7 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Neon Unstable, up-to-date (morning updates for 29/11/2022)
Same here, on a new installation of KDE neon 5.26. DrKonqi wants to install debug symbols, but does not show the KDEsu dialog and fails to get authentication.
Same here - Neon Unstable. Temporary workaround: sudo drkonqi-pk-debug-installer kscreen
Thank you for your bug report! However this bug report was created/provided previous to 01/01/2023 and also has not received any updates since before 01/01/2025. Unfortunately KDE neon no longer provides updates for anything older than noble 24.04 based edition's. Please upgrade to KDE neon noble and if you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report. Thanks for understanding!
