I see no reason the text selection would be influenced by the fact that you've decided to create an highlight annotation to that or any other text.

Please explain your rationale.

There are two different tools.

1. text chooser highlights text in blue for editing
2. Marker in green or yellow

when i have text chosen and switch to the marker, the blue choosing stays, which is kinda weird. Dont know if its wanted though, as you could still copy text.

Maybe I can elaborate further:

The searched for term stays marked even though I closed the search window using "Esc". When I now mark the text, this funny coloring occurs.

maybe you can record a video with peek or some other desktop recording tool?

I still don't understand what the problem is really looking at that screenshot.

Here is a video of the Okular highlight-not-resetting bug: https://cloudsync.uol.de/s/eZp25rPSY7rqcAG

For some reason the color is not blue anymore but green, so this color mix doesnt happen anymore.

I am on Plasma 5.27 now, so some changes.

I'm not sure what you're reporting then :D

The screenshot from issue #3 is correct, you have text selection and annotation and they both correctly are shown, but you said that was a bug?

But then you show us a video in which that does not happen (which seems a bug to me, but not to you?)

So according to you is there a bug then or not?
Comment 7 Henning 2023-03-21 12:05:24 UTC
This issue seems to have been fixed as the color of the highlight changed to green?

The confusing behavior is that Okular keeps the chosen text chosen, while you can also highlight it, producing this overlay of colors. It may not be a bug, if you may want to have this as a feature.
