I tried to add additional keyboard layouts on Wayland. But I was unable to switch to another layout, like French and in addition US. So in comparison to Gnome. I can see my custom keyboard in KDE but not in Gnome... Gnome supports $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/xkb https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/936 but it is a hack However, it is straightforward to switch between several (standard) layouts on Gnome.
In addition, I am not convinced by the UI design and the French translation is a disaster, even worse than Google Translate...
Do you see a layout applet in systray, what happens if you click on it? What happens if you press the switching shortcut? Do you have IBus packages installed? (you shouldn't) Did you try to ask about your problem on some support forum, chat? Why do you think it's a bug?
