Description Lisandro Damián Nicanor Pérez Meyer 2022-11-25 18:13:37 UTC
SUMMARY

Wallpaper configuration changes if the screen is locked.

I have two monitors, both HP P22v G4, connected to a [AMD/ATI] Lexa PRO [Radeon 540/540X/550/550X / RX 540X/550/550X] (rev c7) video card.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. On one monitor use the "Picture of the day" set up, "Scaled, Keep Proportions".
2. On the other monitor set up "Slideshow", "Scaled, Keep Proportions" set to 3 mins.
3. Let the machine lock due to timeout (no use).
4. Unlock screen.

OBSERVED RESULT

The first monitor now has the default Plasma config and the second one has the "Picture of the day" one.

EXPECTED RESULT

No changes.

When the screen locks, does one of your monitors turn off?

If you restart plasmashell with `plasmashell --replace` do they swap back to their correct positions?

No.

> If you restart plasmashell with `plasmashell --replace` do they swap back to their correct positions?

Never tried, I will!

OK, tried `plasmashell --replace` and I noticed I should make an amendment to my original bug report. As soon as I unlock the screen the first monitor does not has the default config but a "blank?" one: the background is black, no actions can be performed on it (but you can place windows as usual). Once I run `plasmashell --replace` I get the default config.

By the way, where is the config file for this? I would love to dig into it.

Sigh, that makes this Bug 450068. It will very hopefully be fixed in Plasma 5.27.
