Description Kalzi 2022-11-19 23:44:38 UTC
SUMMARY
***
Adding yahoo emails to kmail is impossible, as the app opens up a Google login webpage
Trying to change the authentication method to others like "Plain", "login" etc. doesn't do anything.
I have even disabled my 2FA on my yahoo account, it is still not working.
It shows the account as "ready" in the settings with a green check, but there is nothing coming through.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a yahoo account to kmail is the only step you need to reproduce this issue

OBSERVED RESULT
Authentication opens a Google sign in web page even though Yahoo is the account being added to kmail

EXPECTED RESULT
To be able to add yahoo accounts to kmail
- To open an actual yahoo authentication window to sing in and add the yahoo account

I find that using "Clear text" as an authentication method works.

Although this still requires the user to put an "App Password" if 2-factor authentication is present.

It would be nice to have the "Yahoo" authentication method alongside "Google" in the drop-down menu. Or, alternatively, one could call that entry XOAUTH2 (like it is in the SMTP part) and have KMail figure out which website to open.

I think would be a great feature, I hope some devs will notice this bug.
