Description soredake 2022-11-18 14:03:05 UTC
SUMMARY
This button will list all profiles that you are created, clicking on profile will open it in new tab (obviously), clicking while holding alt will open it in split view, clicking while holding shift will open it in new windows.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open konsole.
2. There is no such button.

OBSERVED RESULT
No such button that will open just by pressing LMB ("New Tab" button requires me to RMB in order to show profiles)

EXPECTED RESULT
Have such button.

If you have the toolbar visible, there's an icon that shows the profiles that you can click on. I think that is what you want.

Where does this icon located?

Use menu Settings->Toolbars Shown->Main and then the far left icon should be what you want.

Ah, this button, this button is almost fine, the only problem that it requires pressing RMB instead of LMB, and pressing on profile with alt/shift pressed will not open it in split-view/new window.

Long-press LMB will open the profile menu. This is consistent with other applications having multi-function buttons, e.g. KMail "Check Mail" and "Reply".

Adding a separate button with alternate functional paradigm seems contradictory to me.

Do you have other applications that do similar actions? It seems a bit weird if one application behaves a certain way and others do not.
