SUMMARY

No matter what I try, resetting to default and even disabling (ctr+alt+x) clipboard automatically copies text selections.  When I change clipboard settings I see the options reflected correctly in ~/.config/klipperrc but the behaviour does not change.

I'm guessing this isn't effecting others so probably not easy to reproduce, but if you guide me I'd be happy to provide better details and help debug.

Turned out to be a conflict / interference with xfce4-clipman running in the background.
