Description gudvinr+kde 2022-11-12 19:53:04 UTC
SUMMARY

After unlocking screen, panel with hiding option set to "auto-hide" gets raised above all windows and doesn't hide until you click on panel and then move mouse elsewhere.

This is similar to bug 453373 that I filed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Lock screen
2. Unlock screen

OBSERVED RESULT
Panel is on top of all windows and doesn't hide until you interact with it.

EXPECTED RESULT
Panel isn't raised or if it were raised before screen being locked, it hides if you don't interact with it.

Operating System: Arch Linux

KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99.0
Qt Version: 5.15.7
Kernel Version: 5.15.77-1-lts (64-bit)

As it turns out, this bug not only happens after unlocking but after screen wakes up too.

Jan, that's a separate issue; please submit a different bug report for it.

Still cannot reproduce tihs issuein a Plasma Wayland session, this time on Plasma 6. Can you still reproduce it in Plasma 5.27?

gudvinr+kde@gmail.com, are you able to reproduce this issue in Plasma 5.27 by locking the screen manually with Meta+L and then unlocking? I.e. without putting the system to sleep at all.

Can't reproduce it since I don't daily drive wayland anymore. I guess issue can be closed and reopened if someone (myself included) will experience it in the future.
Comment 8 Nate Graham 2023-10-17 12:36:08 UTC
Ok, feel free to re-open this if and when you encounter the issue on Wayland again.
