Wow that's a really old version of Discover. You must be trying to upgrade from a very old Ubuntu version. This often works badly and requires manual action in a terminal, because the repos have gone stale. That's what the error message indicates: it can't contact the upgrade servers. In this case Discover didn't do anything wrong and I would recommend that you seek support in an Ubuntu-specific forum.
