SUMMARY I was typing code in PHPStorm, I moved the mouse cursor towards the bottom of the screen to reach for the task manager, and suddenly (not sure if before or after the cursor got over it, and not sure if triggered by it or by coincidence) the task manager disappeared, sliding down nicely as if it was hiding on purpose (something that it never does under any circumstances). At that point I tried to use the keyboard shortcut to minimize all windows and see the desktop but that didn't work. I manually minimized all windows and found that the desktop was black, as I suspected. Luckily I remembered that I already had a terminal window open, and Alt+Tab did work. So I relaunched plasmashell from the terminal. Had that not been the case, I'm not sure if I could have launched plasmashell from a Ctrl+Alt+F2 virtual tty. The output of `coredumpctl` doesn't show any line for plasmashell. I'm told in #449351 that that means plasmashell did not crash. So it somehow "exited" gracefully??
