Created attachment 153436 [details] Desktop Grid/External Monitor issues. SUMMARY *** When displaying a desktop grid, the wallpaper on some of the virtual desktops on the primary screen is displayed also on the corresponding virtual desktop on the external monitor, obscuring any application windows displayed on the external monitor. Also, when dragging a window from one virtual desktop to another, both on the primary screen, the wallpaper on the destination virtual desktop spills onto the virtual desktop below, while the window is being dragged. As far as I can recall, this issue has arisen only since the 22.04 / 5.26 upgrade. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set up 4 virtual desktops and an external monitor 2. Set up Desktop Grid as the action for a Screen Edge 3. Activate the Desktop Grid, using a Screen Edge 4. Drag window from Row 1, Desktop 1 to Row 1, Desktop 2, on the primary screen. OBSERVED RESULT (1) The wallpaper on some of the virtual desktops on the primary screen is displayed also on the corresponding virtual desktop on the external monitor. This obscures any application windows displayed on the external monitor. (See attached photograph.) (2) When dragging a window from one virtual desktop to another, both on the primary screen, the wallpaper on the destination virtual desktop spills onto the virtual desktop below. (See Row 1, Desktop 2 in the attached photograph.) EXPECTED RESULT (1) The wallpaper on the virtual desktops on the primary screen should not be displayed on the external monitor. (2) The wallpaper on Row 1, Desktop 2 should not spill into Row 2, Desktop 2. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon 22.04 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99.0 Qt Version: 5.17.7 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'm not sure whether this is related to 459771, 459750 or 458957. Thanks and regards.
Are you using X11 or Wayland?
Created attachment 153875 [details] attachment-25696-0.html Nate, Apologies for the delay, but I've been having DMARC problems. Hopefully this one may get through, and the answer is X11. Thanks. Would you mind attaching a screenshot of your screen layout in the Display Configuration page in system Settings? Thanks!

Okay so nothing super weird. Thanks. Any chance you can test on Wayland and see if it works there?
Created attachment 154391 [details] Wallpapers Issues with Desktop Grid and External Monitor - using Wayland Hi Nate, I seem to be getting the same issue with Wayland, as well X11. Thanks and regards
Darn. Thanks for testing.
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #7) > Darn. Thanks for testing. Nate, Let me know if there's anything else I can do. Thanks and regards Peter
Created attachment 154703 [details] Zip file of photos of virtual desktop grid problem Nate, I tried varying the number of virtual desktops, in the hope that that may give some clue as to the source of the problem. I also notice that: (1) when displaying the grid of desktops, some of the virtual desktops on the laptop have a border that looks like the edge of the image on the external screen; and (2) with an odd number of desktops, we get a black area for the "missing desktop" on the external monitor whereas there's some odd things going on, on the laptop. Many thanks and regards P
Problem seems to have been resolved by this weekend's update to Plasma 5.27.3. Thank you.
