Description poperigby 2022-11-03 01:23:21 UTC
SUMMARY
When using the search in the overview effect, if the title of a window matches the search term entered, no other entries are shown.

For example, if I open up an application, searching for the application name will only highlight the currently open window, instead of also showing me the desktop entry for that window. For another example, if I open the cursors page of system setting, and then type "cursors" in the overview effect, only that window will be highlighted, instead of it showing that window and the settings entry for cursors.

This only happens in the overview search. KRunner and Kickoff are unaffected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open an application
2. Open the overview effect
3. Search for the name of that application

OBSERVED RESULT
The currently opened window is highlighted.

EXPECTED RESULT
The currently opened window is highlighted, and the desktop entry for that application is shown (along with any other relevant entries)

This is currently the intentional and expected behavior. It's so we can make the search do window filtering as well as generic KRunner searches.
