STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. hover over icon of opened application in task bar

OBSERVED RESULT
empty box

EXPECTED RESULT
box with application displayed

Do you have the kpipewire package installed?

Yes i have 

$ pipewire --version
$ pipewire
$ Compiled with libpipewire 0.3.59
$ Linked with libpipewire 0.3.59

Sorry, wrong command, but anyway if i try to dnf install kpipewire, i get 
kpipewire-5.26.2-1.fc36.x86_64 already installed

Rreinstalling this package resolved my problem, thank you a lot!
