SUMMARY kdenlive experimental release (kdenlive-master-388-linux-64-gcc.AppImage, 22.11.70 rev 23b6e572f) crash in startup. I know it's an experimental release and it has bugs, but i wanted to test something comparing it from the stable version (not needed anymore), but in two days/builds in a row it doesn't work. The first time you start it, it shows the splash image and disappears, crashing silently. The next time you try to start it, it shows the dialog to reset the configuration because the crash. If you choose YES, it does it, the splash image disappears and it hangs in memory (the only way to close it is to finish AppRun.wrapped process, if not it remains there). If you choose NO, it loads a little bit and simply crashes silently. Tested with experimental version 22.11.70 (rev. 125bc66ba, from 30-Oct.-2022), and 22.11.70 (rev. 23b6e572f, 31-Oct.-2022). System installed version 22.08.2 via flathub works perfectly fine. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Download the experimental release from here https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_appimage-centos7/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/ 2. Execute it. OBSERVED RESULT 1. If it's first time ever executed (there isn't any config files), it shows the splash screen, loads a little bit, and crashes. 2. If it's any other time executed, it shows the reset config dialog A. If you choose NO, it does the same as explained in the (1) point (it loads a little bit, and crashes). B. If you choose YES, the splash screen disappears, but it hangs in memory until you kill AppRun.wrapped process (if you open a few times the app using this option, all of the hangs in memory at once). UPDATE: I just upgrade the system from KUbuntu 22.04.1 to KUbuntu 22.10, and now the behaviour is different with kdenlive-master-388-linux-64-gcc.AppImage (22.11.70 rev 23b6e572f).
Created attachment 153376 [details] Missing packages dialog appeared in KUbuntu 22.10 (not in 22.04.1) UPDATE: I Just updated the system from KUbuntu 22.04.1 to 22.10 and the behaviour is a little different with lastest experimental kdenlive-master-388-linux-64-gcc.AppImage (22.11.70 rev 23b6e572f). Now in any case it shows a dialog about missing apps and packages (screenshot attached). It talks about missing apps (mediainfo) and missing packages (AVFilter, Breeze, avformat, qimage or pixbuf, kdenlivetitle, glaxnimate). Although, if you push the OK button, it crash or hangs like in the report above. Just tested kdenlive-master-394-linux-64-gcc.AppImage (06-nov-2022 18:16:39, 23.03.70, 26136fd22) and it works now.
