Add a command line option to take a screenshot from the specified monitor ID. For example:

spectacle --background --nonotify --only-monitor 2

This would make it easier to assign a hotkey to take screenshots from the second monitor. Currently, I have it set to use --fullscreen, which requires manually cropping the screenshot to a single monitor afterwards.
