Just after login I see a black box on the Plasma desktop. Till I open any window that covers it, then the box disappears. It also happens on the live USB.

Thank you for the bug report!

Please note that Plasma 5.25.5 is not supported for much longer by KDE; supported versions are 5.24, and 5.26 or newer.

If at all possible please upgrade to a supported version and verify that the bug is still happening there.

If you're unsure how to do this, contact your distributor about it.

Can you open a terminal window, run `xprop`, click on the black area, and paste the output in the terminal window into a comment here?

The box belongs to the desktop itself.

Maybe this is due to the frame-rate change that takes place between SDDM and the user session.

Yeah, that or it's a graphical glitch. Either way, it would be a KWin issue; moving there.
