SUMMARY *** Upon using my desktop I will get notifications, when I have "Do Not Disturb" checked. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use desktop as usual 2. Receive a message 3. Keep clicking red x's to close them out OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT To not have any messages when do not disturb is selected SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux - 5.26.1 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Messages marked with the "critical" urgency are still shown in Do Not Disturb mode by default (it's actually configurable on the Notifications page in System Settings. This default setting is by design, since those messages are supposed to be for really important things like, "you're about to run out of power and your system will shut down and maybe lose your work if you don't plug it in soon". You can tell a notification is marked urgent because its pop-up has an orange stripe on it. If apps are abusing this to set the critical urgency level, that's quite bad and it should be reported to them. They shouldn't mark messages as urgent unless they're really urgent. Can you confirm that this is what you're seeing? Do the messages you're seeing have an orange stripe?

It has happened with KDECONNECT when I get messages on my phone such as discord, or email I will still get messages
Do the notification popups for these messages have an orange stripe on them?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > Do the notification popups for these messages have an orange stripe on them? They do not
The next time this happens, can you attach a screenshot that shows both the crossed-out bell icon in your System Tray that indicates you're in Do Not Disturb mode, as well as the notifications on the screen that are appearing but which you would expect to be suppressed? Thanks!
Created attachment 153066 [details] Screenshot of do not disturbed and still getting messages Here you go.....screenshotted and highlighted the "Do not disturb" and the message that still shows up

If it helps I have a 3 screen setup The other 2 side screens are fine, but the middle one (my main desktop) causes the messages to come thru - Before I upgraded to 5.16.1 I had no issues but the moment I upgraded from 5.19.x to 5.16.1 issues arrised.
Interesting, thanks. No idea what would be causing this, so I'll leave it to the other developers.
Is the DND setting global across multiple instances of the applet? The multiscreen setup hints a bit towards that as a problem
(In reply to Bharadwaj Raju from comment #10) > Is the DND setting global across multiple instances of the applet? The > multiscreen setup hints a bit towards that as a problem For every desktop I have (I have 3) the 2 side desktops are fine they respect the DND.....but the middle one does not. All 3 desktops have a DND check Before I upgraded......I had zero issues at 5.25.x but at 5.26.1 it has started to misbehave.
Thank you for this report, I understand it's been a while since this report saw any activity, however I would like to check if this issue is still occurring for you in a more recent Plasma version. If it is still occurring, I'd like you to see what happens to the file ~/.config/plasmanotifyrc when you alter the Do Not Disturb toggle on each of the applets. Thanks in advance.
