Description José Oliver-Didier 2022-10-19 17:26:13 UTC
SUMMARY
***
Display 3-5 recently used people's names in face region name drop-down
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In the image Preview window, click on an unknown face region - name displayed as "Unknown".
2. Click on the drop-down down arrow to display people's name list, without typing anything in the name field/leave it as is.

OBSERVED RESULT
- Names list is displayed, if the user starts typing, the drop-down displays suggested matches.

EXPECTED RESULT
- When the name field is empty, and the user clicks on the "down" arrow display the most recently used names in regions.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Oftentimes, the user may be batch tagging multiple images with the same people. This way, it makes the face tagging workflow more efficient (less typing).
- Windows Photo Gallery would do this and it was a time-saver. It would also display any people tags with no face regions associated to them in the photo in the drop-down options list, this could also be considered.

Recently used faces are in the popup when you type a letter or 2. I find this type of input much faster than the dropdown list. I never work with the dropdown list, takes way too long to scroll to the person. The list uses the person model, which is already filtered and pushes up the system tags. The effort would be relatively high, from my side a no.
