SUMMARY
Please see the screen recording.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have at least two apps opened in the icon only task manager
2. Close one of them

OBSERVED RESULT
The app closes, however there's an animation played for the app, which is last in the icon only task manager and not closed.

Is your panel not horizontally maximized?

I'm pretty sure he has a spacer to the right of the icons-only task manager. This is exactly the type of things that happen to the task manager when you put spacers next to it. I can reproduce very similar shenanigans.

Correct, there's one large spacer. :)

I don't think I can reproduce it anymore in 6.1
