You have to untick "Fill free space on Panel" in Tasks Manager's settings

Reopened as "Fill free space on Panel" option is not present in GUI

Inconsistent spacing is still present, but I now believe this may be an issue with the panel itself, rather than the IOTM widget. Editing to reflect this.
