SUMMARY Trying to mute system notifications in the settings doesn't actually mute them. Also, it seems an upgrade in plasma forcibly unmuted them after I had muted them in a previous version. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to system settings -> audio -> playback streams. 2. Click on the speakers icon for "Notification Sounds". OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens. EXPECTED RESULT Should mute notifications. Clicking the speakers icon in other apps mutes them correctly as intended. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.98.0 Qt Version: 5.15.4 Kernel Version: 5.19.0-2-amd64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Eight-Core Processor Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: VEGA10 Manufacturer: Acer Product Name: Predator PH517-61 System Version: V1.09 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Thank you for the bug report! Please note that Plasma 5.25.5 is not supported for much longer by KDE; supported versions are 5.24, and 5.26 or newer. If at all possible please upgrade to a supported version and verify that the bug is still happening there.
When you say "mute notifications" do you mean: 1. make notifications not appear 2. make notifications stop producing sounds when they appear 3. make the volume status OSD not produce sound when it appears Or some combination of those? Or something else?

Or something else? To make them not produce a sound, like how it behaves when one sets the volume to 0%.
Thanks.
