Description Patrick Silva 2022-10-14 10:49:12 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open 'Energy Saving' KCM
2. under 'Screen Energy Saving', change the timeout of 'Switch off after' to a non-default value
3. apply the change
4. uncheck 'Screen Energy Saving' and apply the change - the 'Switch off after' timeout remains the one applied in the step 3
5. go to another KCM and go back to 'Energy Saving'

OBSERVED RESULT
after the last step, the 'Switch off after' timeout is the default 10 min

EXPECTED RESULT
after the last step, the 'Switch off after' timeout should be the non-default one applied in the step 3

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.100.0
Qt Version: 5.15.6
Graphics Platform: Wayland

This is fixed by Jakob Petsovits with https://invent.kde.org/plasma/powerdevil/-/commit/8babe3530c32feb60e982eccd92fe2341091858d in Plasma 6, which re-does the entire UI and doesn't suffer from this issue anymore.
