Hmm I saw this a few days ago, but only on git master and that was addressed by https://invent.kde.org/plasma/breeze/-/merge_requests/254

Not fixed

Just checked and still not fixed. As you can see in the screenshot, the problem is that there is too much space between the icon and the label. Also, I don't see such an issue in KDevelop, so it seems to me to be a Kate issue.

Try

kate -style fusion

If the problem is still there, it might be a Kate or KwidgetAddons bug, otherwise please reassign to breeze again.

Can you please double-check whether you applied the breeze patch correctly? Because it looks to me like the bug in my attachment and that was fixed for me with this patch.

If you zoom in your screenshot, you will see that the labels are also cut off.

Yes, that's the point. That screenshot is from ~1-2 weeks ago before https://invent.kde.org/plasma/breeze/-/merge_requests/254 applied.

Yep, with the fusion style the labels aren't longer cut off, but the sidebar buttons in the Kate still look quite narrow compared to the KDevelop.

Assigning back to breeze.

This is by design I think. We have 0 spacing between sidebar buttons

Yeah. If you think it's an issue, please file a new bug report against kate specifically.

Shame on me, it's really fixed but still not available in Developer Edition. Sorry for bothering you with this.
